After another (virtual) night at this year’s FIRM Awards we are incredibly proud to have won the Innovation of the Year Award with our client Sainsbury’s! To top off our excitement we were also ‘Highly Commended‘ in the Best Candidate Experience category for all of the great work we have been doing with Accenture on their early careers campaign, Accenture Live.
Throughout the pandemic, Sainsbury’s have remained committed to their mission of ‘feeding the nation’. After seeing record levels of high unemployment, Sainsbury’s saw a significant rise in in-store applications and needed an efficient and robust tool to hire walk-in candidates (direct hires) and those returning (re-hires).
The solution built by our talented team of resourcing and tech experts was a bespoke app for hiring managers in-store. Launched from a hiring manager’s phone, the app walks candidates through a basic screening process before providing an instant outcome. Successful candidates can schedule a follow-up interview on the spot, while all data is fed back to the central HR team automatically.
Within just one month of being live our app had helped recruit over 4,000 new colleagues. A feat that felt rightly deserving of the Innovation of the Year Award!
