Tackling the confidence gap for early careers work readiness
In conversation with Frances Trought
Post-pandemic we seem to have found ourselves in a situation whereby a generation of young people who missed out on key experiences are feeling disillusioned, disconnected, and outright despairing about their future prospects, in a world which has seemingly bounced back.
Very rarely do we find that both candidates and employers are on the same page when it comes to what each party wants from the other. However, right now early careers recruiters need these candidates to be upskilled so they can be employed, and candidates asking to be upskilled by employers. So why do we seem to be in a stalemate?
In this 45-minute session Meet & Engage’s Jodie Grove sits down with Early Careers specialist and founder of ‘Everything D&I’ Frances Trought to discuss:
- The challenges with candidate confidence and skill levels and how socio-economic background further impacts these.
- The impacts this challenge is having on Early Careers recruitment.
- How employers can be bridging this gap.
- Creating programs which have long-term benefits for candidates and businesses.
